Provincial 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Outreach Worker- East Quadrant (Strides)

When you’re worried that challenges at home, school, or in your community could affect your future, having someone in your corner can make a meaningful difference. Provincial Youth Outreach Workers (PYOW) support youth ages 12-24 who are at risk of school difficulties, youth justice involvement, or out-of-home placement by helping them access services, build supports, and achieve their goals.

The program helps youth strengthen their well-being, increase their connection to community, and access the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Through personalized outreach and advocacy, Youth Outreach Workers build trusting relationships with youth and their families, identify strengths and goals, and connect them to appropriate community services and supports. They help youth navigate complex systems, access public and private resources, expand their support networks, and overcome barriers that may prevent them from getting the help they need. Outreach Workers also collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other service providers to create inclusive opportunities and strengthen supports for youth. By coordinating care and promoting community engagement, the program helps ensure youth remain connected, supported, and able to thrive in their communities.
