Intensive Child and Family Services/Intensive In Home Services

Intensive Child and Family Services provides short-term, individualized support to help children, youth, and families strengthen skills, improve stability, and succeed at home, school, and in their communities.

For children and youth ages 0-18 who are experiencing mental health, behavioural, or special needs challenges that place them at risk of difficulties at home, school, or in their community.

Intensive Child and Family Services helps children, youth, and families build the skills, supports, and stability needed to strengthen relationships, improve daily functioning, and successfully remain connected to their home, school, and community.

Using a strength-based and family-centred approach, ICFS provides intensive, short-term support tailored to each family’s unique needs. Services are delivered where they are most accessible and effective, including in the home, school, community, or at a Lumenus location. Over a targeted three-month period, clinicians work collaboratively with children, youth, families, schools, and community partners to develop individualized plans that build on existing strengths and address identified challenges. Support may include case management, home visits, referrals, advocacy, and coordination with other service providers to ensure families receive the resources they need to achieve their goals and create lasting positive change.
