West End Services for Abuse and Trauma (WESAT)

Experiencing violence, abuse, or trauma can affect every part of your life. Having compassionate support can help you heal, regain a sense of safety, and move forward with confidence. WESAT provides trauma-informed counselling and support for women age 16 and older who have experienced abuse, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, or childhood sexual abuse.

The program helps women strengthen resilience, process the impacts of trauma, and build safer, healthier futures.

Through trauma-informed counselling, crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, service coordination, referrals, and connections to community resources, women receive support tailored to their unique circumstances, needs, and goals. Services are person-centered and strengths-based, helping participants identify priorities, develop individualized service plans, and access the resources needed to support healing and recovery. When appropriate, support is also available to help caregivers understand the impact of violence on children and connect dependents to relevant services and resources. Delivered by Family Service Toronto and funded through MCCSS, WESAT provides coordinated support that empowers women to make informed choices and take meaningful steps toward well-being.
