When your child is experiencing emotional, social, behavioural, developmental, or physical challenges in a child care setting, it can be difficult to know what support is needed. Every Child Belongs supports children with enhanced needs, their families, and child care providers to create inclusive environments where every child can participate, learn, and thrive. The program helps children achieve positive outcomes in child care while building the capacity of child care programs to support diverse needs and foster inclusion. Resource Consultants work closely with families and licensed child care programs or home child care agencies to identify concerns, understand each child’s strengths and needs, and develop effective strategies for support. Through consultation, coaching, and program development support, Resource Consultants help child care providers build inclusive practices and achieve their goals for the children in their care. When additional expertise is needed, Resource Consultants can also facilitate access to specialized consultations and services. By bringing families, child care providers, and specialized supports together, the program helps children build skills, strengthen relationships, and succeed in their child care environment.
